|Nanomechanical characterisation of functionalised single cellulose fibres|
Description of project
In this project the impact of functionalised polymer coatings on the mechanical properties of single cellulose fibres shall be investigated by comparing uncoated fibres to coated fibres. The polymer type and its location on the fibre are varied to improve the design of functionalised polymer coatings and their synthesis process. |
An example for a possible application is microfluidics where an increased hydrophobicity of cellulose fibres is required.
