Nano-Mechanische Eigenschaften von UV-bestrahlten Kollagen-Fibrillen

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body. Its excellent biocompatibility and the unique mechanical properties make it a highly applicable material in the field of tissue engineering. The potential of collagen as growth medium for tissue is already discovered but further research is necessary to make processes more efficient. The controlled adjustment of the mechanical properties is thereby a key feature. The treatment of collagen with ultraviolet light is one possibility to modify the elasticity of the material. Investigation of the correct settings for this modification is as necessary as the knowledge of the processes on the structural level of the collagen that are investigated with Raman spectroscopy.
